Southern Idaho has been relatively unscarred by major fires this summer.

I was on the Jerome side of the canyon when I saw the huge plume south of Twin Falls.

The city of Twin Falls next week will conduct annual maintenance at its sediment ponds near the Meadow Ridge Subdivision.

If you see smoke north of the Snake River Canyon this afternoon, don’t worry. It is likely a controlled burned.

If you saw smoke in the city this afternoon, it likely was from a controlled burn.

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)- A controlled fire will be held at the end of the month just northeast of Hazelton to reduce the risk of large fires.
