RENO, Nev. (AP) — The head of the University of Nevada's Seismological Laboratory says a trio of significant earthquakes that struck a remote area along the Sierra's eastern front early Wednesday were big enough to cause as much as $1 billion damage if they'd been centered beneath a big city.

As usual this time of the year in the North East states the snow has quickly accumulated! Some parts had 2 feet fall in only a few hours and other areas have over 5 feet of snow blanketing their towns. They can't go out for a drive to get food - they have to get it from somewhere close.
Earlier today a mandatory evacuation order was put in to place for people living near the Cave Canyon Fire. Rock Creek Canyon as well as anyone living south of Foot Hills Road is being told to leave their homes near the fire. For those in need of disaster relief, the American Red Cross is offering local Cave Canyon Disaster Services.
