People living in parts of Lincoln and Blaine counties will need to be aware of possible flooding this weekend. The U.S. National Weather Service in Pocatello has issued a Flood Watch for parts of the Magic Valley starting at noon and lasting until Sunday afternoon.
A police pursuit that began in Blaine County and ended early this morning in Jerome County after the suspect driver sped through Lincoln County exceeding seeds of 100 m.p.h.
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm advisory that is in effect until 5:30 p.m. today in Lincoln and central Blaine counties, and until 5 p.m. in central Minidoka County.
UPDATE: Authorities say they now know what was causing the "booms" in the Shoshone area during the weekend. According to the Shoshone Police Department, Lincoln County Sheriff's deputies determined the sounds were made by Tannerite, or exploding targets, southwest of Shoshone.
