Much of southern Idaho will see thunderstorm activity prompting weather officials to issue a Red Flag Warning this afternoon. Winds are expected to pick up with gust as high was 30 m.p.h.
Heat Advisory has been issued for most of the Magic Valley from the National Weather Service in Boise. People need to take extra precaution if they plan to be out in the heat.
Temperatures in the Treasure Valley and beyond are expected to be in the triple digits this week prompting weather officials to issue an Excessive Heat Warning.
People traveling or living in southern Idaho can expect to see several inches of snow this weekend as a warm front moves into the area. The National Weather Service in Boise has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for most of southwestern Idaho including the Magic Valley for Saturday
One look at maps provided by the National Weather Service in Boise obviously shows southern Idaho and much of the northwest hasn't gotten as much snow as it did the same time last year.
Much of Idaho is covered with smoke once again from fires burning to the north and west of the state and will continue to see more as the week continues.
