Despite heavy population and steady business, some popular stores have decided to close in California this year, and it has many feeling upset.

With the national economy on shaky ground some of these brands are making the difficult decision to close some locations.

Albertsons Companies Inc. and Rite Aid Corp. which previously had plans to merge by the end of the year, have mutually agreed to terminate the merger agreement.
