Preparation is key to an awesome road trip. One does not just fill up the tank and leave. Right now is not a discussion of the destination, but the journey along the way.
Road trips are an incredible way to enjoy parts of the country that often gets missed. The freedom of the open road can be therapeutic. Road trips can be fantastic for bonding or great to do alone and explore at your leisure. Town and Country recently came out with a list of The 60 Most Scenic Drives in America. The beautiful gem state made the list. See what drive won in Idaho and what roads were recommended in our neighboring states for an extended road trip.
You really can't go wrong with any of the Idaho destinations named on the list, which also include Bear Lake State Park, Redfish Lake, and Harriman State Park.
The distance between "The Goonies house," and the "Sleepless In Seattle" home, is just 180 miles. If you head back through Bend, Oregon, on your way home to Twin Falls, you can also stop into the last Blockbuster video store.
I was thinking that there are so many places in Idaho I have never explores, so I found a few places on the map to see how long this epic Idaho road trip would take where you would essentially touch every corner of Idaho and a lot of central Idaho.
The holidays are full of family time and can create some great memories as well. But that doesn't mean that your family/significant other doesn't drive your up the wall during this time of year.
