There is an event taking place next week that will allow you and your child to hike, stargaze, and learn about the wildlife at night in the area.

Castle Rocks State Park will be having a luminary hike and winter celebration on Friday, December 17 and Saturday, December 18 at Almo Park from 7 PM to 9 PM.

The shower gets its name from the fact the meteors appear to originate from the Perseus Constellation. The shower can be viewed across the United States and Canada, and parts of Europe as well.
