December 31, 2015 marks the last day that some Sprint and Verizon customers may claim a refund.

Earlier this year in May, a judge ordered Sprint and Verizon to pay some of its customers for "mobile cramming," totaling $158 million.

The settlement followed an investigation that found Verizon and Sprint charged customers millions of dollars for premium third-party text message services. The companies typically levied fees of $9.99 a month for the services, according to the Federal Communication Commission (FCC). Services such as astrology, celebrity gossip, and sports tips were included in fine print, according to NBC News.

The deadline to claim a refund is December 31. To claim a refund visit Sprint and Verizon refund websites.
