Twin Falls County Judge Cited For DUI

A Twin Falls County 5^th Judicial District Magistrate Judge has been cited by Boise police for driving under the influence.  The Times News reports today that Magistrate Nicole Cannon was cited on April 19^th for excessive driving under the influence.  According to Idaho law, a DUI is considered excessive when the blood alcohol content measures at least .20.  Idaho’s legal limit is .08. 

The misdemeanor case was filed in Ada County 4th District Court on April 24. Cannon has pleaded not guilty.  Cannon is a former Minidoka County prosecutor and was appointed the 5th Judicial District judge when she was picked for the job in January 2011. Cannon will continue to hear cases while her case is undergoing due process but she will not be hearing any DUI cases.
