Twin Falls City Manager Travis Rothweiler will be asking the City Council today for about $12,500 to conduct a survey.  Rothweiler wants to know how Twin Falls compares to comparable size towns in Idaho for compensation to city employees.

Rothweiler says he’s trying to avert a replay of the past when a number of city employees left for similar positions in other towns.  In 2005 Twin Falls City lost so many city police officers to the Treasure Valley that the department had to temporarily discontinue providing school resource officers and traffic patrols.  City employees are budgeted for a 2-percent salary boost this fiscal year.  The last time city employees received a raise was in 2008.  Rothweiler says a new survey will help city officials see how city employees compensation compares to the rest of the state.
