‘Prometheus 2′ Gets New Writer, May Already Be Dated for March 2016
It's been all quiet on the 'Prometheus 2' front for a while now, and it seemed like the studio might let the proposed sequel shrink away. Today proves that they're still interested as Michael Green has been hired to do rewrites, and Fox is looking at a fall start date, with a possible March 2016 release.
‘Splinter Cell’ Circles Doug Liman and a 2015 Release
We haven't heard much about New Regency and Ubisoft's planned big screen version of 'Splinter Cell' since a bidding war broke out to get the film rights and Tom Hardy signed on to play the lead back in 2012. But Sony announced that they are going forward with 'Ghostbusters 3,' and now director Ivan Reitman has clarified they plan to start within the next year, though he will no longer be on board as the director.
Marvel Could Release New Superhero Films Quarterly
Since 2011 Marvel has been pushing to release two films a year. Last year gave us 'Iron Man 3' and 'Thor: The Dark World' with this year offering both 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' and 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' while 2015 will bring 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron' and 'Ant-Man.' And as the studio keeps having hits, they may expand their slate to release three to four films a year.
