At Comic-Con this year, one of the biggest surprise announcements came at the end of the Legendary panel when a mysterious teaser trailer revealed the upcoming 'King Kong' prequel, 'Skull Island'. The teaser did what it set out to do, teasing the audience with the announcement of a new movie they previously knew nothing about. Well, today we know a little bit more about 'Skull Island,' specifically who could be directing it.
Ryan Reynolds is committed to eventually getting a 'Deadpool' movie made at Fox. The problem is that Fox doesn't seem nearly as convinced. Says director Tim Miller, "Ryan is ready, I am ready, the fans are more than ready, we just need that elusive green light." To help convince the studio and show them a little of their vision for the film, Miller and Reynolds collaborated on some test footage that shows the merc with a mouth in action.
One of the big rumors at Comic-Con is that Marvel's big announcement would be the casting of 'Doctor Strange'. Even Benedict Cumberbatch got in on the buzz, dropping hints during the DreamWorks Animation panel. But, if the 'Doctor Strange' casting was Marvel's big secret, the secret may have just been revealed. The Wrap is reporting that Marvel is in discussions with three-time Oscar nominee Joaquin Phoenix to star as their new superhero.
Earlier this week, Marvel announced their schedule through 2019 and it included...well, a lot of dates. So far, there are few titles actually announced, but Marvel president Kevin Feige at least has hinted at what we can expect by revealing that each year, for the next five years, will have one sequel and one original film
Up until this point, we haven't heard any real explanation from Marvel or Edgar Wright on why the two sides parted ways on the 'Ant-Man' movie. Besides a few tweets, Wright has stayed mum on specifics, but now Marvel president Kevin Feige opened up about the departure.
If you thought the 'Avengers 2' fun was done for the day with the reveal of Ultron on the cover of Entertainment Weekly, you were wrong. We've got eight brand new 'Avengers 2' pics - the first official photos from the movie - and the gang's all back together (along with some new friends)!
You don't have to wait for Comic-Con to get your first look at Ultron, the big 'Avengers 2' villain! Marvel has released its first look at the new big bad (and his army of Ultron clones) on the cover of Entertainment Weekly.
The previous 'Big Hero 6' trailer didn't show us much beyond a glimpse at puffy robot hero Baymax struggling to fit into his robot suit. Today, we get a longer 'Big Hero 6' trailer with much more footage from Disney's upcoming animated Marvel film, though unfortunately, still a lot of focus on the antics of Baymax.
With Comic-Con 2014 just over two weeks away, we're starting to get a very clear idea of what we'll be seeing in San Diego. Many of the TV panels have been announced and today comes our first confirmation of what to expect on the movie side. Warner Bros. have announced their Comic-Con plans and it will include brand new footage from 'The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies,' 'Mad Max: Fury Road' and 'Jupiter Ascending'!
