BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho officials are advising against swimming or wading at Robie Creek Beach at Lucky Peak Reservoir in southwest Idaho due to bacteria that can cause illness.

The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality in a statement Thursday says monitoring by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers found E. coli bacteria levels considered unsafe for swimming.

Officials say high levels of E. coli indicate human or animal waste and that disease-causing microorganisms might be present. Robie Creek Beach is in the Mores Creek arm of the reservoir.
