BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The annual peregrine falcon nest watch has started early in Boise this year with the laying of the first egg. Officials with The Peregrine Fund say the egg appeared Wednesday in the nest box on a ledge of the 14th floor of One Capital Center in downtown Boise. That's the earliest the female has laid an egg since a webcam started monitoring the nest in 2009. The webcam gives peregrine fans a bird's-eye view with streaming video of the growing chicks and comings and goings of the adults. Official say the female will lay an egg about every other day until she's produced a clutch of three to five eggs. She and her mate prey on pigeons, mourning doves, starlings and other birds found in the city.
