BOISE (KTVB) -- A Boise man who broke into an Eagle home and stole more than $1 million worth of guns, silver, and other items was sentenced to prison Monday.

Gilberto Garza, 34, was sentenced to 14 years in prison. He will have to spend at least seven years behind bars before becoming eligible for parole, and could be ordered to pay restitution.

Prosecutors say the break-in at the house near the BanBury Golf Course happened between between March 17th and May 17th, 2013, while the owners were out of town.

The residents came home to find nearly every room ransacked, and possessions including jewelry, precious metals, guns, furniture, appliances and a 2002 Mercedes gone. Neighbors told police they had seen a U-Haul backed up to the home while the owners were out of town.

Some of the stolen items were found at the Boise home where Garza lived with his wife, Jessica Engelhardt. Engelhardt pleaded guilty to misdemeanor resisting and obstructing and was sentenced to 365 days in jail, with 347 days suspended and credit given for serving 18 days in jail.

Engelhardt may also be ordered to pay restitution.
