Several property owners and residents along Eastland Dr. in Twin Falls testified at the city council meeting last night regarding the construction along that road and the methods used by the city to acquire the land.  Residents in that area have complained that construction to widen the road seemed to begin without  property right-of-way acquisition and unfair prices for the land used by the city.  City officials have been apologizing to the residents for the way the situation has been handled and last night was no exception.  Mayor Don Hall told the residents to continue negotiating with the city.  Last night’s meeting focused mainly on the area now under construction from Elizabeth Blvd. to 4th Ave. East but eventually the construction will stretch to Falls Ave.  At least one resident in the area has hired an attorney to represent her during the process.  Others have been negotiating directly with the city.
