Additional Information

Eliminate mosquito breeding locations!  Anything that holds water longer than 7 days can produce mosquitoes, and mosquitoes don't just bite; they can spread disease.  One tire can produce many thousands of mosquitoes.  The Twin Falls County Pest Abatement District is encouraging everyone to take advantage of Southern Idaho Solid Waste's Tire Amnest Day on Saturday, May 4.

Take up to four passenger tires (without a rim) to the landfill or transfer station for FREE DISPOSAL.  (Fee for some truck and tractor tires.)

Let's clean up and protect public health at the same time!  Although tires are a haven for mosquitoes, they can be found in almost any place that holds water.  Cans, birdbaths, rain gutters, toys, and water troughs are all capable of harboring mosquitoes.  Therefore, it is important to drain anything capable of retaining water at least once a week to prevent larvae from hatching!
