Forest Opens for Christmas Tree Cutting
(KLIX)-If you haven’t gotten the old Christmas tree yet, you can start looking this weekend. The Forest Service announced Christmas tree permits will go on sale this Friday Nov. 16th. The permits cost $5 bucks and it lets you get a tree up to ten feet high. If you want something taller you can pay for a $10 permit. There are several locations to get your permits

9:00-4:30 Saturday–Sunday through Dec. 9th. Starting Dec. 15th Headquarters will be open on Saturdays 9:00-4:30 throughout the winter.
Hailey Area

Stanley Area

The Forest Service will have extended hours during the thanksgiving weekend. The Forest Service asks that you check with them before you head out. There are areas were you cannot cut down a tree such as campgrounds, administrative sites, ski areas, summer home sites and organization camps.
