‘Game of Thrones’ Season 4 Spoilers: May Episode Descriptions Reveal Trouble for Tyrion

Game of Thrones Season 4 Spoilers May Synopses Tyrion

Game of Thrones‘ season 4 has plenty on its plate for the moment with the recent controversy surrounding Sunday’s “Breaker of Chains,” but things understandably won’t get any easier as the HBO fantasy drama heads into May, placing plenty of new dangers onto the characters of George R.R. Martin‘s literary world. The full set of May episode synopses have arrived, and it looks like Tyrion gets hit hardest of all in the coming season!

We’ll still have this coming Sunday’s “Oathkeeper” to keep us busy (critics only had access to the first three episodes of the season, even if book readers recognize the title significance), though HBO has seen fit to grace us with its May episode synopses, including May 4’s “The First of His Name,” and subsequent installments “The Laws of Gods and Men,” and “Mockingbird.” The network will take off May 25 for Memorial Day weekend, naturally.

Here’s what HBO had to say of May’s ‘Game of Thrones’ season 4 installments, spoilers beware:

Episode #35: “First of His Name”

Cersei (Lena Headey) and Tywin (Charles Dance) plot the Crown’s next move. Dany (Emilia Clarke) discusses future plans. Jon (Kit Harington) embarks on a new mission. Written by David Benioff & D. B. Weiss; directed by Michelle MacLaren.

Episode #36: “The Laws of Gods and Men”

Stannis (Stephen Dillane) and Davos (Liam Cunningham) set sail with a new strategy. Dany meets with supplicants. Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) faces down his father in the throne room. Written by Bryan Cogman; directed by Alik Sakharov.

Episode #37: “Mockingbird”

Tyrion enlists an unlikely ally. Daario (Michiel Huisman) entreats Dany to allow him to do what he does best. Jon’s warnings about the Wall’s vulnerability fall on deaf ears. Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) follows a new lead on the road with Pod (Daniel Portman). Written by David Benioff & D. B. Weiss; directed by Alik Sakharov.

Definitely a few surprising reveals there, including Brienne’s new companion and Tyrion’s trial ahead, but in the meantime, what do you think? Given the deviations already inherent to ‘Game of Thrones’ season 4, which episodes are you most looking forward to adapting George R.R. Martin’s work?
