BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The Republican candidate for Idaho's secretary of state has remained almost completely silent advertising his campaign compared not only to his Democratic opponent but also to the rest of the candidates running in statewide offices.

State Rep. Lawerence Denney of Midvale has not released a radio, online and television advertisement, or a press release since he won the Republican primary election in May. Denney isn't running as an incumbent but political analysts say that he does have an advantage in Idaho running as a Republican in a predominantly red state.

In contrast, opponent Holli Woodings has released several press statements and online advertisements that have been critical of Denney's political past and lobbyist influence. Denney says he will release advertisements closer to Nov. 4.
