COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) — Authorities in northern Idaho say skeletal remains found earlier this month are likely those of a white male between 30 and 50 years old.

Kootenai County Sheriff's Lt. Stu Miller tells the Coeur d'Alene Press in a story on Friday that an examination determined the person has been deceased for less than two years.

Miller says dental records have been entered into the national database for missing individuals.

Miller says additional information isn't being released because the investigation remains active.

A hiker found the bones on Feb. 4 in a forest off Cape Horn Road near Bayview while hunting for shed antlers.
