LAPWAI, Idaho (AP) — Officials in Nez Perce County say a 42-year-old Lapwai man has died in an apparent all-terrain vehicle crash while horn hunting northwest of Lapwai. The sheriff's office says search and rescue crews found the body of Gerald Lee Hieb in a farm field on Monday.

Hieb left his house around 11 a.m. Sunday with his two dogs. The search began at about 10 p.m. Sunday when he did not return home. The sheriff's office says it appears Hieb rolled his ATV and sustained fatal injuries in the crash. His dogs were not injured.
