BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Three Ada County deputies and a Boise police officer have been cleared of wrongdoing in the March shooting of a suicidal man. Twin Falls County Prosecuting Attorney Grant Loebs said Wednesday the actions of 41-year-old Peter See of Kuna left officers with no choice.

See has been receiving medical and mental health care since the March 9 shooting. The investigation found that dispatchers received a report that See was suicidal and had pointed a gun at a relative. Several hours later, See called 911 to say he planned to hurt himself.

Officers found his truck, but he pointed a gun at them and drove off. The chase ended when his truck hit spike strips. Officers said See got pointed his gun at them. All four fired at him. See was hit eight times.
