(KLIX)- Fire crews have their hands full fighting several fires across Southern Idaho. The
Great Basin Incident Management Team One took over the Minidoka Complex fires.
Crews are battling three fires on the Minidoka Ranger District of the Sawtooth
National Forest. Three fires started by lighting over the weekend make up the
Minidoka Complex according to the Incident Team. The Cave Canyon Fire has
burned roughly 13-thousand acres, the Deer Hallow has burned 11-hundred, and
the Eightmile has charred roughly 211 acres. The Cave Canyon forced the
evacuation of four homes on the Mullen Ranch. Ranchers have had to move cattle
out of the area. Canyon winds are making it difficult at night to fight the
fire. The Deer Hallow fire is burning through a lot of dead and dry trees
killed by beetles. The Forest Service has closed off a number of roads in and around
these fires.
