TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)- The Jerome fire chief decided to step down from his position. The City of Jerome announced the resignation of Jack Krill from his position of Fire Chief. Krill said he decided to resign because of personal and professional reasons.

He will pursue other opportunities. The city said Krill had wanted to stay on as the on-call Deputy Fire Chief, however, they city is not able to provide such a position. Krill began as the Deputy Fire Chief in 2011 and took over in 2012 as the Fire Chief.

The city credits Krill with increasing fire fighter safety and training. As well as fighting the city's largest fire in history when a Main Street building caught fire. Krill caused a controversy when his department sent a bill close to $100,000 to the owner of the building. The city later look back the bill.
