A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the Magic Valley through Christmas Day (Dec. 25) that could bring up to 3 inches of snow.

The National Weather Service in Boise has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow in the western Magic Vallet until 5 am Christmas morning (Dec. 25).

  • Snow amounts: Up to 1 inch in the Treasure valley, 1 to 3 inches in the Magic Valley, and higher amounts of 4 to 8 inches expected above 5000 feet.
  • Winds: Northwesterly winds 20 to 30 mph with local gusts up to 45 mph at times.
  • Impacts: Snow and blowing snow will impact visibilities and cause snow covered roads making travel difficult.

Precautionary / Preparedness Actions

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means that visibilities will be limited due to a combination of falling and blowing snow. Use caution when traveling, especially in open areas. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving.
