Man Looses Hand at Idaho Cannery

GARDEN CITY, Idaho (AP) — Police in Garden City say a man lost his hand in an industrial accident at the LDS cannery in Garden City. KTVB-TV reports police, Ada County paramedics and firefighters responded to the building at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

Police say the man was working alone on a peeler when he lost his right hand. The man was taken by ambulance to the hospital in Boise. His name and condition have not been released. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
