Conversations are still being held from time to time among county officials regarding solutions to overcrowded and outdated jail facilities.  This week representatives from Gooding and Twin Falls Counties discussed the possibility of building a jail in Wendell to house prisoners for both counties.  These are very preliminary discussions right now and nothing firm has been decided.  Gooding County’s jail is so old and outdated that Sheriff Shaun Gough says it takes twice the manpower of a more modern facility.  Twin Falls County has to send prisoners to other facilities due to overcrowding.  Representatives from both counties are looking at the possibility of a new single jail facility to solve their issues.
