N. Idaho Elderly Man Killed in Car Crash

Benito Baeza

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho State Police say an 87-year-old man died in a two-car collision on U.S. Highway 95 near Clearwater Casino. Virgil McIntosh was a passenger in a car driven by 80-year-old Virginia McIntosh Sunday afternoon.

Troopers say Virginia McIntosh failed to yield to traffic as she attempted to enter the highway from Nez Perce Road. A 17-year-old Lapwai boy was driving northbound on the highway and collided with the McIntoshes’ car.

Virgil McIntosh was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries. Troopers Virginia McIntosh and the driver of the second car both were injured. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known. All three were wearing seatbelts.
