Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) – Twin Falls County Prosecutor Grant Loebs said Tuesday that he will not file criminal charges against a Gooding County deputy sheriff following a shooting near Bliss. The shooting occurred February 2 in which Hollee Johnson 39, was shot.

It happened following a high speed chase and after Johnson, the driver of the fleeing vehicle shot Ronald Water Rice, 40, in the stomach. He was riding with her at the time. It started in Mountain Home when police there stopped a car for no headlights. The driver drove off of the traffic stop eastbound on Interstate 84. Gooding county deputies got involved stopping the car at the Y-Inn Motel in Bliss. The two were Colorado residents who were passing through the area. Both were taken to St. Alphonsus in Boise for treatment.

Lobes investigated the matter at the request of Gooding county prosecuting attorney Luverne Shull. Lobes said, “I have carefully analyzed the report prepared by the Critical Incident Task Force and have concluded that no criminal charges should be filed against any of the law enforcement officers involved in this incident.”
