Robert Bergdahl Pleads For Son’s Release

On Friday,  Robert Bergdahl, father of Spc. Bowe Bergdahl, the Idaho soldier taken captive by the Taliban while serving in Afghanistan, uploaded a YouTube video, pleading for his son’s safe return. Bergdahl, appears in the video very calm as he addresses the Pakistani Armed Forces.  Despite his son being held captive, Robert thanked the people who are sheltering his son. He later pleads for his son’s return again, and expresses his understanding of their country, and the different tragedies that have affected the lives of those in Pakistan. But he also tells them that it’s time for Bowe to come home.  Bowe Bergdahl of Hailey has been held by the Taliban since June 30, 2009, when he disappeared in Paktika province in eastern Afghanistan.
