‘Star Wars: Episode 7′: Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert Duel For Charity

Star Wars: Episode 7‘ is great and all, but do you know what’s even better? Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert battling each other to see who is the bigger ‘Star Wars’ fan. And do you know what’s even better than that? Raising money for UNICEF. Hmm, if only there was a way to combine all of these things into one video…

Oh, wait! Here it is!

Created to help promote the Star Wars: Force for Change campaign, this video finds everyone’s favorite political satirists/late night comedians learning about the charity initiative and immediately confronting each other over who is the bigger fan of the series. After all, only one lucky fan will win the chance to visit the ‘Episode 7′ set and appear in the film, so this is real business.

To be honest, the video looks like it was shot in 20 minutes their respective offices and the two comics can barely keep a straight face the entire time, but it’s certainly amusing enough. In any case, it’s all worth it to see Stewart dress up like an, uh, unlikely ‘Star Wars’ character in his efforts to defeat Colbert. Whether or not your find the video amusing will depend entirely on your tolerance for just watching these two goof off. But c’mon, no one goofs off better than these guys.

Anyway, the real goal of the video is to direct your attention to this site, where you can donate money to a great cause and possibly win the chance to be a part of the ‘Star Wars’ saga. What are you waiting for?

Here’s the official description of the Star Wars: Force for Change campaign:

Star Wars: Force for Change is a brand new Star Wars initiative from Disney and Lucasfilm dedicated to finding creative solutions to some of the world’s biggest problems. The first Star Wars: Force for Change campaign will raise funds and awareness for UNICEF’s Innovation Labs and its innovative projects benefitting children in need.

To support the launch of Star Wars: Force for Change, Disney has committed $1 million, and fans can now donate directly at http://www.omaze.com/starwars for a chance to appear in Star Wars: Episode VII. By pledging as little as $10 through the Omaze fundraising platform, any eligible supporter will be automatically entered for a chance to win this once-in-a-lifetime experience. The campaign runs from 12:01am PST on May 21st until 11:59pm PST July 25th.

The Star Wars: Force for Change Grand Prize includes:
• Airfare and accommodations to London for one winner and a guest
• Behind-the-scenes access on the closed set of Star Wars: Episode VII as VIP guests of J.J. Abrams
• Winner will have the opportunity to meet members of the cast
• Winner and their guest will then be transformed by makeup and costume teams into a Star Wars character and filmed for a scene in Star Wars: Episode VII

Meanwhile, filming continues on ‘Star Wars: Episode 7,’ which will open on December 18, 2015.
