SUN VALLEY, Idaho (AP) — Sun Valley Resort says it's possible a run at one of its central Idaho ski areas will be named after Olympic halfpipe gold medalist Kaitlyn Farrington. Spokesman Jack Sibbach tells KTVB the resort has a longstanding tradition of naming runs after Olympic medalists associated with the area and he'd like to see that continue with Farrington as well as future Olympians. Olympic medalists Gretchen Fraser, Christin Cooper and Picabo Street, and Paralympic medalist Muffy Davis, have runs named after them on Bald Mountain, the main ski area. Coaches say a halfpipe at nearby Dollar Mountain is already known informally as Kaitlyn's halfpipe because she trained there developing her snowboarding skills.
