Good News: Local Home Construction Is On The Rebound

Local building construction in the Magic Valley is on the rebound. According to the city of Twin Falls forty-five single family home building permits have already been issued through April. That compares to ninety-three for all of 2011. Lower material prices, lower interest rates, and cheaper land costs have helped spur growth.

More Sewer Line Work Awarded

The city of Twin Falls has awarded another contract for the Northeast Sewer Project. It connects the Chobani plant with the city’s waste water system. Stutzman Incorporated won the bid at little more than $75,000. The city is only funding part of the work. Twin

Work Progresses At Chobani Yogurt Plant Site

The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Chobani yogurt factory east of Twin Falls is set for December 19th, but you wouldn’t know it from the level of activity going on at the property at Kimberly Road and 3300 East Road.

Good News: Construction Activity Is Up!

Although things seem slow, construction activity is up. According to McGraw-Hill Dodge Reports there was a 15% increase during June in the Intermountain Area. New Commercial construction starts also saw a 10% increase, multifamily housing is up 16%, healthcare facilities are up 8%, and utility projects are up a whopping 28%

As the seemingly endless list of road construction projects in the Magic Valley area is trying the patience of motorists, there is yet another one to add to your list starting today.  For motorists traveling east on Kimberly Road between Twin Falls and Kimberly, the right-hand lane will be closed from 3300 east Road to Hankins Road.
