Idaho House lawmakers marked Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl's third birthday in captivity of a Taliban-allied group in central Asia. Bergdahl is a U.S. soldier from Hailey, Idaho, taken prisoner in Afghanistan in June 2009 who is now being held by the Haqqani network. The now-26-year-old Bergdahl was born March 28, 1986.
The Idaho Fish and Game Department says two men from Hailey have received fines and penalties after being caught poaching in Custer County. A total of 49 citations and 21 warnings were issued to seven individuals this week by Custer County Magistrate Judge Charles L. Roos. 44 year old Juan Pasillas-Garcia of Hailey, was sentenced to 540 days in jail with all but 40 suspended. He also must pay over $3,200 in fines and fees and his hunting, fishing and trapping privileges were suspended for 15 years.
The Hailey Police department is confirming that 55-year-old Jon Anderson and his ex-wife, Linda Vaughn, were found dead this morning in their Bellevue home.
A caretaker found the bodies. Police say at this point they are treating the case as a murder-suicide. The incident remains under investigation by the Bellevue Marshals Office and the Hailey Police Department.
