‘The Crow’ Reboot: James McAvoy to Be Reborn as Eric Draven?
Yes, ‘The Crow’ reboot is still happening with director F. Javier Gutierrez at the helm, despite the fact that essentially all the big names being considered for the lead have failed to officially come aboard. Do you think this might change now that a new report has emerged stating that young Charles Xavier in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ James McAvoy, is circling the gig?
Bradley Cooper, Mark Wahlberg and Channing Tatum were all at one point in the casting pool to lead ‘The Crow’ reboot as Eric Draven, a man who’s brutally murdered along with his fiance and comes back to life as an undead avenger. But now talk has seemingly turned to James McAvoy, who recently wrapped work on ‘Trance‘ and is now ready to reprise his ‘X-Men: First Class’ role for Bryan Singer’s ‘Days of Future Past.’
This bit of info comes from Bloody-Disgusting, the same people who broke the Mark Wahlberg story a while back, and we all know that turned out to be true despite the fact that it didn’t work out in the end. Their same source is stating that as of now ‘Days of Future Past,’ which is quickly turning into one big-ass ‘X-Men’ movie, will most likely not interfere with ‘The Crow’ production, if McAvoy decides to take it on.
What do you think of this news? Does James McAvoy have what it takes to take on James O’Barr’s vengeful comic book character? If not, whom would you like to see take on the role? Give us your thoughts in the comments.
