Yesterday an audience member seemed to call me a hypocrite. I was talking about the latest revelation in the shooting death of rancher LaVoy Finicum in Oregon. Buried in a story about a new video surfacing of the event is an admission an FBI agent fired two shots. Initially the agent denied the action as if somehow the detail would be ignored. You can find a link here to one of the stories I referenced. I suggested the original FBI story makes you wonder what other details could be covered up by the Bureau. A caller then asked why I wasn’t railing about the shooting of an Idaho rancher by Sheriff’s Deputies earlier this winter.

Well, I haven’t seen any video of the Idaho case. We also don’t yet know if anyone has attempted a cover-up or to hide evidence. Just because you think you know what happened doesn’t make you right. I’m sure many of the people bursting with anger over the Idaho shooting had no such qualms when they heard about the shooting of black teenager Michael Brown in Missouri. Funny how we rush to our own judgments based on our own cultural biases.
