Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - Harrison Elementary, 600 Harrison Street in Twin Falls, is closing early this Tuesday afternoon due to a 8-inch water line break.

Josh Palmer with the city of Twin Falls said the break happened around 1:15 pm directly in front of the school.

Police are re-routing traffic using Polk street and ask that you avoid the area if at all possible. The school bus system is running picking up children and the school district is releasing students as parents pick them up.

It’s not known what caused the break. The road is being torn up and crews are working to determine what caused the break. The LDS church and the school is currently without water.

The Twin Falls Fire Department is on scene because there is now water pressure in the area. They are on standby in case there is an emergency.
