Good News: Construction Activity Is Up!
Although things seem slow, construction activity is up. According to McGraw-Hill Dodge Reports there was a 15% increase during June in the Intermountain Area. New Commercial construction starts also saw a 10% increase, multifamily housing is up 16%, healthcare facilities are up 8%, and utility projects are up a whopping 28%...
Good News: Kimberly Presented Two Awards For Operation Facelift
The city of Kimberly, Idaho was recently presented two awards for their efforts in this year's 'Operation: Facelift.' The awards, including 'Most Improved City,' were presented by Southern Idaho Rural Development for over a thousand hours of volunteer support in Kimberly.

Good News: C3 Adding 300 New Jobs
There's more good news in the Magic Valley! C3, one of the Magic Valley's largest employers, is adding 300 jobs. Although 50 of the jobs will be seasonal, the company already employs 600 local workers, and the new positions will start immediately.
Good News: A New Warner Truck Center is Under Construction
A new Warner Truck Center is under construction at Crossroads Point in Jerome. When completed, the 62,000 square foot facility will boast 36 service bays, a fast-lube truck service pit, a paint booth large enough to accommodate a semi trailer, training and conference rooms, and an indoor showroom to show off new Freightliner trucks.
Good News: New Water Line Installed Southeast of Twin Falls
A huge new water line is being installed southeast of Twin Falls, bringing hopes of attracting more large-scale manufacturers.
The $2.1 Million dollar project is being paid for by the Urban Renewal Agency and is being constructed south of Kimberly Road between 3300 East and Hankins Road. When completed the pipe will run 1.6 miles and be capable of delivering up to 4,000 gallons of water per minute
Good News: Rogerson Celebrates Its Centennial
Another local town is celebrating its centennial birthday: Rogerson, Idaho!
Rogerson was platted as a town site in 1911 by Robert Rogerson, a local Twin Falls hotel owner and entrepreneur after the Oregon Short Line Railroad built a track south of the land he owned. The discovery of gold in northern Nevada and Salmon Damn construction helped this small town to flourish.
Good News: Operation Facelift Cleaned Up Downtown
Have you seen the work being done in communities around the valley? It's known as "Operation Facelift" and it gives downtown area buildings in eleven communities new coats of paint, trim work, and gets them cleaned up to make them a more appealing business.

Good News: Magic Valley Airport Usage Up
Recent numbers released show that the use of the Magic Valley Regional Airport is on the rise. In 2010 air travel from and to Twin Falls rose 20% over the previous year. In 2009 the Magic Valley Regional Airport hosted 53,214 travelers. In 2011 that number grew to 66,600 people!
Good News: Crime Rates In Twin Falls Have Fallen
According to a recent report by the city of Twin Falls, the Twin Falls police responded to an incredible 49,378 Calls for service in 2010. That's an increase of 3% from 2009 and up a whopping 24% from 2000.
