The calendar has turned to October and the weather has dropped over the last couple of weeks, indicating fall is in full swing. With the new month and the season, many are excited for the holidays not being too far off, and they begin with Halloween. It may still be a few weeks away, but one of the best things about October is that many of the festivities have begun. There is much to do this time of year at Tubbs Berry Farm and if you haven't been before, now is the time to go. The main attraction is the hay maze, but there are also slides, an apple blaster, a bounce pad, a petting zoo, hayrides, and much more. There is something for all age groups, kids and adults. The farm is open on Thursday from 3 PM to 9 PM and on Friday and Saturday from 10 AM to 9 PM. Admission is $10 on Thursday and $12 on Friday and Saturday. One of the best parts about this time of year is corn mazes and hay mazes are popping up all over the area. One of the best and biggest in the area is the Burley Straw Maze. It is a must for all families and is a time you won't forget. The maze is open Thursday from 4 PM to 9 PM, Friday from 1 PM to 10 PM, and Saturday from 10 AM to 11 PM. Admission is $10 on Thursday, and $12 on Friday and Saturday, with the haunted maze being $14 on Saturdays from 8 PM to 11 PM. One of the best things about fall is Octoberfest. It is a time to drink celebrate, and appreciate a good beer or a few. Twin Falls knows how to celebrate and will be doing so this weekend on Friday and Saturday downtown. Octoberfest will take place from 4 PM to 9 PM on Friday, and from 11 AM to 9 PM on Saturday. The event is essentially a giant block party with tons of food, beer, a kids zone, shopping, and more. Despite many thinking of the event as only beer, this is a family friendly event. Do you believe in ghosts? Are you fascinated by them? If so, don't miss your chance to go on a ghost tour this weekend in Rupert. The tours will be taking place on Friday and Saturday and begin at 7:20 PM each night, with a tour departing from Historic Wilson Theater every 20 minutes. The final tour departs at 10:20 PM. This is a walking tour, so make sure to bring good shoes and perhaps a hoodie or coat. Tickets are $25 per person. If you enjoy being spooked or watching your friends cry and scream, then make sure to take them to the Haunted Swamp this weekend. The swamp is open this Friday and Saturday from 7:30 PM to 11 PM and tickets are $15 for children aged 3 to 7, $18 for children 8 to 11, $25 for people 12 and up on Fridays, and $27 on Saturdays. Have you ever seen 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show?' Perhaps it is one of your favorite movies, or you haven't seen it in a while. It is one thing to watch it, but this weekend you have the chance to experience it. 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' will be aired in the Orpheum Theatre this weekend for a special presentation. It is a great way to get into the seasonal spirit, and there will be a few chances to catch it this Saturday. Show times will be at Midnight on Saturday, another showing at 7:00 PM, and the final showing will be at 11:55 PM. With fall well underway, there is no reason to delay doing some fall shopping. This weekend is the perfect time to do so at the Fall Vendor Sale taking place at the Twin Falls City Park this Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM. This will be the biggest sale yet with over 50 vendors on hand and a little bit of everything. Jewelry, home décor, clothing, crafts, food, and much more.
