A recent video posted online shows a world-famous competitive eater in Southern Idaho attempting a food challenge, with a twist. Instead of just doing the challenge once within the allotted time, he tried to do it twice, back-to-back.

For normal human beings, each challenge is 4 and a half pounds of food and challengers get 30 minutes to eat the entire thing, to get the meal for free, a shirt, and their picture on the wall of champions. If the challenger fails, they have to pay for the meal.

Competitive Eater Finished a Southern Idaho Food Challenge, Twice

The Train Wreck is a famous food challenge at the Depot Grill in Twin Falls, Idaho. The meal includes 6 large buttermilk pancakes, 1 pound of sausage, and 4 eggs (fried or scrambled). Competitors are given 30 minutes to finish the challenge, but this competitor ordered 2 Train Wrecks and tried to finish each of them in less than half an hour. That’s about 9 pounds of food in one sitting.

On the Food Challenges website, the Train Wreck is only ranks as a 2 out of 5 in difficulty, but it’s still impressive. Randy Santel came to Twin Falls in 2025 to attempt to double the challenge, and he made it look easy. He finished the first challenge in 16 minutes and 50 seconds. The second one took a bit longer, you can watch the video to see how he did.

The video was just shared to his social media page a few days ago, but he did the actual challenge over a year ago, February 5, 2025 according to this live video of the event. That live event video has more than 47 thousand views while the new, recap, video has over 211 thousand views. He has an additional 178 thousand views on the YouTube video.

He finishes the second challenge with a glass of milk, which seems crazy, and 6 seconds left on the clock. Also impressive is that the day before he took on the Train Wreck, he was in Idaho falls doing Sully's GastroPub Team Burger challenge.

He also attempted the Garage Cafe Hemi Burger and the 72 oz Ribeye Workhorse challenge in Idaho. I bet his girlfriend/fiancé is impressed, since she’s a competitive eater too. She goes by Katina Eats Kilos on social media, and she recently took on a giant BBQ challenge in Washington.

I don’t know how much a competitive eater gets paid, but if you fail the challenges, you usually have to pay for them. Maybe these jobs are a little more stable when it comes to guaranteed income?
