Area Ski Resorts Needing More Snow To Open
With the Christmas break beginning for school kids around the valley local ski resorts would love to capitalize on the business. But so far only two area ski resorts are open.
Sun Valley Ski Resort has been open since last month and Pomerelle south of Burley is also open now. But those are the only two local options. The lack of snow this winter has been a real issue for ski resorts. Magic Mountain in the South Hills south of Hansen still needs a few more inches to open. Soldier Mountain near Fairfield is still waiting for more snow before it can open. And the forecast for southern Idaho looks shows there’s really not much chance of any snow until sometime later next week. Still the resort owners are hoping for the best and plan on opening eventually.
