Snow lovers in Idaho, especially in the ski town of McCall, are rejoicing as word of an opening date nears Friday for Brundage Ski Area. Wednesday the community officially kicked off the ski season. Brundage officials reported 2 inches fell Tuesday and in the last 48 hours a total of 7 inches fell on the base of the mountain. Brundage officials say they will be opening Friday morning at 9 with the front side opening with limited groomed runs.
Many of the states ski resorts still aren’t open thanks to a lack of snow. Magic Mountain south of Hansen still hasn’t opened and neither has Soldier Mountain near Fairfield. Brundage Mountain is counting on an incoming snow storm to make their 50th birthday celebration something to remember.
