Idaho’s U.S. Senator Mike Crapo was in the Magic Valley yeterday speaking at a Jerome Chamber of Commerce luncheon and holding a Town Hall meeting last evening.  Many Idahoans were against raising the debt ceiling limit but Senator Crapo says he voted in favor of it in order to set things up so further steps could be taken.  Senator Crapo said those steps are very important.  Senator Crapo was on the original “gang of six” committee that was looking at ways to cut the long term spending in Congress but he says their plan was ignored by President Obama.  Now with the new “Super Congress” Crapo says he hopes the “gang of six” plan will get some consideration.  Crapo told the gatherings yesterday that the American dream is in peril, with the federal debt crisis putting it in jeopardy.
