Lack Of Idaho Snow Not Yet A Big Concern

The Idaho Water Supply Committee met yesterday to talk about the lack of snow in southern Idaho.  By last year at this time the Magic Valley had already experienced quite a bit of snow and drifted roads.  But water experts say they aren’t all that concerned yet.

This latest storm system has brought a few inches of snow to the higher elevations of Idaho.  Brundage Mountain near McCall is reporting several inches of snow on top.

Good Water Year Allows Aquifer Recharge

The plentiful snowpack throughout southern Idaho this year will pay an extra dividend…extra water for the aquifer recharge effort.  State officials say the plentiful water supply this year will allow canal companies to use some of that extra water in their efforts to recharge the Eastern Snake Plain Aquifer.

Idaho Water Supply Keeps Getting Better

As of midday Monday, Sun Valley Resort received 25 inches of snow in the last 24 hours.  And while it was snowing in the mountains, much of the valleys received rain. Water supply specialist Ron Abramovich says so much rain and snow have fallen across the state this month, we've already received our March allotment of precipitation.
