Twin Falls County could be filing a lawsuit as early as this week challenging the latest redistricting plan for the state.  And the Twin Falls City Council could decide tonight if the city will join in that lawsuit.  The latest plan to redraw the state’s legislative district boundaries separates Twin Falls city into its own district.

The rest of the county to the west would join Elmore County for another district and the county to the east would join Cassia and Power Counties.  Twin Falls County Commissioners believe this is moving the population centers too far away from rural Twin Falls County to have the county’s best interest at heart.  The Twin Falls City Council will meet at 5 o’clock today to decide if the city will be joining in the challenge.
