Was Cop in Utica, NY Busted Planting Evidence on Video During Traffic Stop? [VIDEO]
A video from a dashboard camera taken back in February of 2011 has recently surfaced and quickly gone viral on the internet.
The video is alleged to show a Utica, New York police officer planting evidence, presumably a bag of drugs, during a traffic stop.
The video, first released and obtained by a weekly newspaper in Utica, shows what some contend is the planting of evidence. The incident in question takes place just past 50 seconds into the video.
Utica police have responded by releasing the entire video of the traffic stop. Utica Police Chief Mark Willams says, “The matter was thoroughly investigated. He’s going into the car with it and that’s what he’s doing, it’s cold out and he’s basically separating the drugs from both defendants.”
Williams also questions why the officers would plant evidence knowing they were being recorded on video.
