Idaho Senator Among Top Twenty Wealthiest In Congress

Idaho Senator Jim Risch has been named the 16th-wealthiest member of Congress by a Washington DC newspaper.  Roll Call estimates that Risch is worth $19.78 million, up .5 percent from last year. Risch is the only Idaho lawmaker  to make the list of the 50 most wealthy members of Congress. Texas Rep.Michael McCaul topped the list with $294.21 million, up 289 percent from last year. The report is based on the minimum value of total assets reported by each member on annual financial disclosures, minus the minimum liabilities. According to Roll Call, an asset valued at $5 million to $25 million is counted at the lesser amount, as is a liability valued at $1 million to $5 million.
