The time is almost here. Only two weeks until it is time to change the clocks, and get some extra daylight. Before you groan too much, it means warmer weather, longer days, and time outside. How long do you have to wait for the time change and when do you need to make sure to change those clocks so you don't oversleep and miss church?

Don't panic, the time change isn't happening soon, but is nice to think ahead and imagine those longer and warmer days happening. Daylight Saving will be taking place on Sunday, March 10 this year at 2 AM. Friendly reminder, this will be the change that makes you move your clocks forward one hour, causing you to lose an hour in the day. This change will be perfect, as it will be around spring break, and give everyone more time to soak up the sun, have more daylight as they travel, or more light to enjoy some time outside, if the Idaho weather allows it.

It may seem odd to think about Day Light Saving ending when it is still a bit away before it starts, but it is always nice to know how long you have to enjoy the longer days. This year the clock will be moved backward an hour on Sunday, November 3. That means you will have 8 months of extended daylight, which seems much longer than it used to be. Could the fact that so much of the year is in daylight saving time be a sign that it could be moving to a permanent change shortly?

Hawaii and Arizona will once again sit back and laugh at the states that have to change their clocks forwards and backwards, while the rest of us hope that one day we can join them in not having to. Daylight Saving Time is approaching, but for many, it isn't soon enough. Longer days and more sun await us in Idaho, but unfortunately, it isn't today.
