The holiday weekend has ended, and by now most are tired of the loud noises through the night and are looking forward to sleeping in silence once more. All the fireworks purchased this year should be gone by now, but due to different circumstances, there might be some leftovers. It is something some deal with every year, and many are left wondering what to do with their leftover fireworks. There are a few options, and here is what you can do in Idaho if you didn't get to fire off all your explosives this holiday.

What to do With Leftover Fireworks in Idaho

If you could not shoot off every firework you have, it is ok, but now you are left to figure out what to do with your unused explosives. The obvious answer is to fire it off, but the time to do so has ended and if caught, you could face a hefty fine. It is an option but comes with a risk and is not recommended. You could store them, which if you do so, you should keep them in a safe place, away from children, in a colder room, to not take the chance of them overheating. You could also chalk up the financial loss and dispose of them, but if doing so, there is a right and wrong way to do it.

If looking to dispose of fireworks, it is important to remember that it is an explosive. You can not simply put it in the trashcan and throw it away like normal garbage. After speaking with the local fire department, the recommendation is to submerge the firework in water for 15 minutes to be on the safe side, and after it has been fully submerged for that amount of time, you are safe to throw it away like normal. Make sure to take this cautious step to avoid any issues causing any potential damage.

Make sure to take care of any unused fireworks and not leave them in a hot shed or garage. If you have any questions or are unsure how to properly handle them, you can always call your local fire department as well. One final option is to donate them or turn them over to the fire department or police department, which will dispose of them properly for you. Hopefully, you enjoyed the festivities and had plenty of fun this holiday, and only one year to go until it is time to do it all again.
